Cisco has launched its new Hyperlocation RTLS solution, providing a demonstration of the latest technology at the Centre for Health Innovation (CHI), based at the Alfred Hospital. CHI Clinical and technology staff developed relevant health scenarios which incorporated RTLS capabilities such as finding equipment, handwashing reminders and do not disturb messaging when conducting certain procedures.

Cisco's ANZ health practice lead, Brendan Lovelock, hosted the launch at CHI, along with Robert de Nicolo, Director - ANZ Enterprise Networking.

For the Tech heads: Cisco Hyperlocation attaches to the back of the Cisco Aironet 3700 and 3600 series wireless access points. It combines Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technologies to pin point RFID tags on assets and personal mobile devices, with far better accuracy than previous location technologies.

This deployment and launch event was made possible through technology partnerships with Cisco, Olinqua, ArchiTech and CHI/Alfred Health.
